Research/Innovation

  • Economic impacts of electric vehicle adoption.:

The objective of the Economic Impacts of Electric Vehicle Adoption research project was to examine the predicted levels of electric vehicle (EV) adoption, to analyze the life cycle costs of EVs compared to internal combustion engine vehicles and to evaluate EV impacts on GHG emissions.

  • Battery:

A battery management system (BMS) is any electronic system that manages a rechargeable battery (cell or battery pack), such as by protecting the battery from operating outside its safe operating area[clarification needed], monitoring its state, calculating secondary data, reporting that data, controlling its environment, authenticating it and / or balancing it.

  • Developing Infrastructure to Charge Electric Vehicles:

Consumers and fleets considering electric vehicles (EVs)—which include all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs)—need access to charging stations

  • Light Electric Vehicles:

A Light Electric Vehicle LEV is a land vehicle propelled by an electric motor that uses an energy storage device such as a battery or fuel cell, has two or three wheels, and typically weighs less than 100kg. Most LEVs are and will remain ebikes. These are Power on Demand bikes controlled with a throttle.

  • Plug-In Hybrid Electric Cars:

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) use batteries to power an electric motor and another fuel, such as gasoline, to power an internal combustion engine (ICE)

  • Mild hybrid 48V vehicles:

Lower fuel consumption and emissions with easy implementation in existing vehicle platforms: That's what makes 48V mild hybrids so interesting in the transition phase to e-mobility. On this page, you can learn all about this technology, which is currently spreading across a wide range of manufacturers and vehicle classes.
